In Memoriam Donation
We have set up a sponsorship scheme whereby a kennel can be sponsored for £5 per month or a cat pen for £4 per month.
Sponsors recieve regular updates on the occupants of their kennel or pen, together with a newsletter. Newsletters are sent out to all members at regular intervals.
If you would like to become a member or would like to sponsor a kennel or cat pen please contact Carol, our manager on 01745 857975. Thankyou.
We always need volunteers to help with a variety of tasks - at the Rescue Centre, in the shops and organising fund-raising activities and collections.
If you have spare time to donate and would like to help with any of the following please contact Carol, our kennel manager, on 01745 857975.
1.Kennel cleaning and dog walking.
2.Cattery cleaning and playing with the cats.
3.Working in one of our three shops, in Prestatyn, Rhuddlan and Abergele.
4.Assisting with street and store collections.
5.We have a number of fund-raising activities during the year and we would like to have more, particularly events at the Rescue Centre. Currently, our Open Day in August is the only event held at the Centre, so if you have any ideas and would be happy to put them into action, we would love to hear from you.
To becomee a volunteer call the Rescue Centre on 01745 857975 to arrange an interview
To volunteer with us you will need to make an appointment with our Manager for a volunteer interview to discuss the type of voluntering you wish to do.
Due to Health and Safety Regulations all volunteers must complete and sign a Volunteer Registration Form prior to commencing. Volunteers will also be asked to produce ID and participate a short induction on their first visit.
Due to insurance purposes, volunteers must be 16 years of age or older to volunteer with us.
We regret that we can no longer allow children under the age of 16 to accompany adults walking dogs.
Volunteers are welcome any day between 9am-4pm (10.30am-3pm for dog walkers). We would appreciate it if you could let us know in advance so we can ensure we don't have too many volunteers at any one time.
Throughout the year a number of street and store collections, coffee mornings, open days and pub quiz events are held to raise money for the upkeep of the centre, but our outgoings far exceed our income.
Street Collections are held annually in the larger North Wales towns, and some of the larger supermarkets occasionally allow us to hold foyer collections.
We have our own quality giftware for sale at the Rescue Centre including: Mugs, Key-rings, Coasters and Thimbles with pictures of some of our dog residents.
We have three charity shops: Prestatyn, Abergele, and Rhuddlan. They will be very pleased to receive clean, saleable items.
Over the last few years we have received some sizeable legacies and these have enabled us to purchase Little Pydew for the establishment of our Rescue Centre.
We are most grateful to these donors who have made it possible for us to at last achieve the original aims of the Association.
We are always grateful for any help you feel you can give us and should you wish to make a cash donation, you can do so via the following secure website:
We are always in need of donations such as fleecy bedding, towels, Kongs, dog/cat toys and food.
(Unfortunately, we are unable to accept duvets or pillows due to the washing and drying requirements)
We also have an Amazon Wish List. Just click on the link below
The Abandoned Animals Association is supported entirely by voluntary contributions. Our members pay a suggested donation of £5 annually and if you would like to become a member, please pay by Standing Order through your bank, or alternatively, contact us at the rescue centre.
